Virginia Horse Center Closes for Two Weeks as Precautionary Measure

Dear Friends,
The Virginia Horse Center Foundation (VHCF) Board of Directors and staff share the concern of everyone for the health and safety of our local community, families and loved ones at this time. Due to the potential health risk posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, The Board of Directors has elected to close the facility for a two-week period commencing immediately as a precautionary measure. This step is necessary for the VHCF to effectively play its part in the national effort to stem the spread of this dangerous virus.

We feel a strong responsibility to help flatten the curve, limit the potential for viral transmission, and to encourage our staff and community members to stay home as well.

The situation is complex and evolving very quickly, and our plans may change. We will re-evaluate the decision to close the facility as new information emerges and with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health. While the office is closed, staff will be working remotely and will be available by phone or email. We will remain in contact with our staff, our show managers and vendors, our donors, and the public as we navigate this together. We realize this decision will pose an inconvenience to many; however, it has become clear that encouraging individuals to remain at home during this national crisis is paramount to our success in bringing the virus under control across the country. We wish good health to our staff, our friends, our supporters and their families.
