Four Wheel Drive, who broke his maiden wining $100,000 Exacta Systems Rosie’s Stakes at Colonial Downs in course record time back in August and followed it up winning the $150,000 Futurity Stakes Gr.III at Belmont Park on October 6, 2019, has been installed as one of the favorites at 5-2 in the $1,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint Gr.IIT.

According to Horseracing Nation “This son of American Pharoah heads to Santa Anita with a 2-for-2 record. He debuted in a stakes race at Colonial Downs as the favorite and then went on to take the Futurity at Belmont Park at odds of .95-1, securing a “Win and You’re In” spot in the Breeders’ Cup, where he should vie for favoritism again.”

It appears the colt’s connections have been aiming for Santa Anita and the Breeders’ Cup all along. When at Colonial Downs, owner Mike Hall confirmed saying “We bought this horse as a yearling and we’ve trained him through the process,” he said. “Wesley told us it was time for him to run. We made plans to run in this race several months ago and it really worked out well. We’ll probably try to get to at least one more race and hope to get to the Breeders’ Cup.”

The $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T) will be conducted on Friday November 1, 2019 with a 1:12pm Pacific (PT) post time (4:12 Eastern ET) at Santa Anita. It will be broadcast on NBCSN and TVG and also streamed live on Youtube, Facebook and Breederscup.com and the BC mobile app.
