KY-breds Almost Sweep Entire CLN Card

Kentucky-bred horses won eight of the nine races carded at Colonial Downs yesterday. The sweep was broken up by Alex White’s Maryland-bred Caneel Bay who won the fourth race.

The card averaged 8.2 starters per race, the on-track handle was $46,394 and the total handle was $1,088,625 after Thursday’s card was washed out.

  1. Yes, Glenn, have been noticing this.  Colonial is becoming a KY-bred track, not really what was intended.  Best, David

  2. I wouldn’t worry too much about that. I think it’s just a statistical anomaly created by the plethora of KY-breds compared to other state bred TBs.
