Virginia-bred stakes winner Just Call Kenny who recently won the Spectacular Bid stakes and was previously named Grand Champion of the 2012 Virginia Breeders Fund’s Yearling Futurity sustained a condylar fracture that will require surgery, according to trainer Pat McBurney.
The Jump Start colt is head to the Equine Hospital in Ocala and is expected to be out 60 -90 days.
McBurney remains upbeat saying, “He’s very bright-eyed and happy with himself, throwing his Jolly ball all around his stall.
Just Call Kenny broke his maiden at first asking this summer at Monmouth and we runner-up in a Laurel allowance before his stakes win last weekend.
“We always thought he could run,” McBurney said after the race. “He got a lot of dirt in his face, split horses and he looked very good. He was off a couple month layoff and we don’t think that was his distance either.”
