Scenics, 2012 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

The ever contracting industry overall and a consistent decline in the production of Virginia-bred foals is having an obvious impact on the reformatted Keeneland September Sale that gets underway next Tuesday.  Only six Virginia-bred yearlings made it into Book 1 which covers the first four days of the annual auction, and one of those has already been withdrawn.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

606 Filly by Malibu Moon, out of What Time It Is by Partner’s Hero. Betz Thoroughbreds, Inc., Agent. First foal of SP mare ($221,070)

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

747 Colt by Congrats, out of Cat Alert by Tabasco Cat. Select Sales, Agent. Half brother to three winners from three to race. Dam is graded SP winner of $290,866.
