VA-BREDS CONTEST STAKES AT CHARLES TOWN AND DELAWARE PARK

Holly Ridge Farms homebred Autumn Affair is entered in today’s $50,000 Sadie Hawkins Stakes at Charles Town while Mark P. Lapidus, LLC’s Virginia-bred Service For Ten will try the $50,000 Vinnie Moscarelli Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park.

Autumn Affair, by Black Tie Affair (IRE), out of Gold Leaf by Slew o’ Gold, will tackle nine other mares in the seven furlong test.  She is trained by Simon Hobson and turned up a dull ninth in her last outing, the $60,000 Oakley Stakes fro Va-breds at Colonial Downs.  Prior to that one, the earner of $160,901 enjoyed some success at the West Virginia track winning an Allowance race in February before running second in  $50,000 Original Gold Stakes.

Service For Ten, by Service Stripe, out of Tenacious Cheryl by Wild Zone, brings a $122,510 bank roll into the Delaware Park feature.  Bred by Mr. & Mrs. Sidney B. Cox, the four-year-old gelding is scheduled to meet seven rivals over the five and one-half furlongs.

Trained by Damon Dilodovico, Service For Ten has been idle since winning the $75,000 John B. Campbell Handicap in February at Laurel.  Prior to that, he enjoyed a good run at the Maryland track winning an optional claiming race in January and another back in December.  In early December of last year he was fourth in the$100,000 City of Laurel Stakes after winning two prep races in October and November.

Service for Ten has been in training at his usual home at Bowie, working four furlongs in 47.8 from the gate back on August 3rd.
