TROUBLE FINDS VA-BRED PROUD STRIKE IN COLIN STAKES

Coming off an allowance win over a similar distance at Churchill Downs in June, Virginia-bred Proud Strike was matching strides with the eventual first-place finisher Transparent when that one veered out.  The Smart Strike colt steadied and almost went down causing jockey Ricardo Santana Jr. to lose an iron for a few strides losing all chance.  Proud Strike got himself back together and finished fifth.

Transparent was disqualified and placed fifth.
