Equibase Chart – Trainer Kenny McPeek made a practice run to the Colonial Downs’ winner’s circle prior to War Fron’t win in the feature with Soribel Stable’s Al Qasr when the five-year-old horse captured the $75,000 Kitten’s Joy stakes.

Ridden by Ben Creed, Al Qasr came to Virginia off a sevnth place effort in the $100,000 Louisville Handicpa Gr.3 at Churchill and  a fourth in the $150,000 Elkhorn Gr.2 at Keeneland.

By Aptitude, out of Majestic Dy by Dynaformer, Al Qasr stalked pacesetter Bernie the Maestro and then made his move coming off the turn.  The Kentucky-bred took the lead in the stretch and dug in to hood off the  locally piloted and rapidly advancing pair of runner-up Target Sighted (Sheldon Russell) and third-place-finisher Amen Kitten (Horacio Karamanos).
